Left it to the last minute? Our office is open Monday – Friday, from 10am to 6pm. Booking Policy
A limited number of pool tables are available for pre-bookings.
Party bookings can be made as far in advance as you want and are charged at a premium of double the normal pool rate (ie £20 instead of £10 per hour). This is the only way you can guarantee to get a table when you want it and stay on it for as long as you want. You are also required to spend a certain amount on food and drink for every pool table you book, this varies during the week. Monday, Tuesday and Sunday you are required to spend £150, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday £250 and Thursday £300 per pool table.
Standby bookings can be made from 7 days in advance if any of the tables allocated for pre-booking are still available. They are also charged at the premium rate and are for a maximum of two hours, but they are not subject to minimum numbers.
The private room is charged at £30 per hour and room rental includes the pool cost. Maximum capacity is 25.
The Space
The Elbow Room in Islington is a 600 capacity venue ideally suited to hosting private parties. We can cater for small bookings or a full-on party for 600, whether it’s a corporate event, an office party, a birthday party or an informal no-reason knees up. If you are coming with a large group of people and you want to stay on a pool table for longer than an hour you will need to pre-book.
There are two separate pool areas, each with 5 tables, as well as a private room with one pool table and its own plasma screen. You can choose the quieter area at the front or the tables at the back which adjoin the dance floor – perfect if you want your own space but some of your guests are liable to slip off and shake their thang. Some nights are obviously quieter than others.
We also have a private room with one pool table and plasma screen. It is situated at the rear of the building just behind the DJ booth – perfect for a bit of VIP action.
Competition
It is entirely possible to play a friendly game of pool with no competitive edge whatsoever. And you’ll have fun. But not nearly as much fun as you’ll have if you’re determined to win at all costs and get down to the thrill of a black ball showdown against your best mate, or your boss, or your boyfriend. There are all sorts of competition formats and we can advise on the most suitable for your needs. If you don’t want to have to worry about the organization on the night, we can provide you with a party host to host the event and act as arbiter in the event of any acrimonious rules disputes. We can also provide trophies and pool related prizes like cues, or even tables.

Pool pro
Add a little extra and hire a Pool pro for the night, to show you a few tricks and dish out a tip or two. We have two excellent house pros who charge £50 per hour for parties, but if you want someone a bit special just ask and we’ll see what we can do. We’ve had both Jimmy White and Steve Davis host parties in the past…
